Privacy Policy — Police Insider Case Screener

1. Who can access this tool

Access is restricted to verified employees authenticated via Google Sign-In using an @policeinsidertv.com or @workwdeep.com email address. No member of the public can access, register for, or use this tool.

2. What the tool does

The Case Screener is used by our sourcing journalists to evaluate whether a specific US police incident is worth pursuing for body-camera footage. It queries the YouTube Data API (read-only) to check whether a given case has already been covered on YouTube, and uses the Anthropic API to generate an editorial assessment of the case from submitted article text or incident report documents.

3. Data we collect and store

• Submitted inputs: article URLs, article text, or incident report documents (PDF or text) submitted by employees for screening. These are stored in our internal database solely for editorial workflow purposes (deduplication, run history, team calibration).
• YouTube API results: metadata returned by the YouTube Data API (video titles, descriptions, channel names, URLs, view counts) for candidate videos matching the submitted case. This metadata is stored alongside the screening run for reference.
• Authentication data: Google account email address and user ID, used solely to authenticate access and attribute screening runs to the correct team member.
• Feedback and notes: editorial judgments entered by employees on screening results, used for internal quality calibration.

4. Data we do not collect

• We do not collect, store, or process data from any member of the public.
• We do not store YouTube user data, viewer data, or any data obtained from YouTube beyond the video metadata described above.
• We do not use YouTube API data for any purpose other than the internal editorial check described in section 2.
• We do not sell, share, or disclose any data to third parties.

5. YouTube API

This tool uses the YouTube Data API v3. Data obtained via the YouTube API is used solely for the read-only editorial purpose described above and is handled in accordance with the YouTube API Services Terms of Service (https://developers.google.com/youtube/terms/api-services-terms-of-service) and Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

6. Data retention

Screening run data (submitted inputs, API results, editorial notes) is retained for internal operational and calibration purposes. Employees may contact deep@infivisionmedia.com to request deletion of data attributed to them.

7. Security

Access is controlled via Google OAuth restricted to authorised company domains. All data is stored in a private Supabase database. API keys are stored server-side only and are never exposed to the client.
